The nervous system consists of the brain, spinal cord, sensory organs, and all of the nerves that connect these organs with the rest of the body. Together, these organs are responsible for the control of the body and communication among its parts.
1. Brain
The human brain is the main organ of the human nervous system. The brain, along with the spinal cord and network of nerves, controls information flow throughout the body, actions such as walking, reading, and talking, and involuntary reactions such as breathing and digestion. The central nervous system is made of the brain.
2. Spinal Cord
The spinal cord is the most important structure between the body and the brain. It is a vital link between the brain and the body, and from the body to the brain. The spinal cord is a cylindrical structure of nervous tissue composed of white and gray matter. The central nervous system is made of the spinal cord.
